Excellence through Equity highlights seven principles that guide
high-quality instructional design, and are important to use as
a foundation for units in which technology plays a substantive
role. This document is intended to be used by resource specialists
and teachers in developing excellent and equitable instructional
units, and by supervisors and evaluators in reviewing classroom
teaching and learning.
Wexford's Professional Development Module synthesizes research,
theory and evidence-based principles related to high quality professional
development. It is intended to guide the planning of professional
development for teachers in support of improved student achievement.
It may be adapted to meet the professional development needs of
schools and districts. The Professional Development Assessment
Tool may be used to review professional development programs as
they are being planned, developed and implemented.
This module synthesizes what is necessary to create systemic
reform in a school/district. It also provides a synthesis of two
break-through models for improving schools and closing the achievement
gap.
